NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH. OH YES THERE IS - IT'S A FREEGAN LUNCH

Credit crunch ?  Hard times?   Inflation ?   Not if you're a FREEGAN.

Dumpster divers, skip surfers, or bin bandits, call them what you want but the Freegan life philosophy is basically to live for free pay for nothing and take no payment for work done or service provided. This anti-consumerist lifestyle rejects the convention of a monetary based economy and thus puts little or no demands on natural resources.  It goes a bit deeper of course, and, you only need to go back a short time to when money was a rarity and the barter economy worked well as a mechanism of trade.  If it does anything to reduce the staggering amount of food that is discarded in a day it would seem to be a good thing. Here comes the "when I was a kid" bit.   We had no sell by dates... or display until dates.  Only very little was ever thrown away, whether food, clothing, or houshold goods. It was re cycling on a massive and commonplace scale. So maybe the FREEGANS have hit on something, give and receive for free.

     Could you stop being a consumer,  would you eat stuff from a bin?   Even if it is free.

ROSS & BRAND RADIO ROW RUMBLES ON

I have one maxim when it comes to comedy and humour.    If at any point it makes you cringe, or makes you feel embarrassed in front of friends or family it falls into a lower category of wit.  This little debacle would be offensive to most people.  What should be done about it ?  All I will say on the matter is if thousands of people complained to my boss about me I am sure I would be in serious trouble and out of a job.  Why should it be any different for these guys?      The BBC have begun a probe whatever that means. They just need to listen to the recording and imagine being the recipient of the prank call.

Today I have heard every possible excuse, feeble justification and pitiful attempt at an apology from the BBC and  Brand, Ross is keeping noticeably quiet on the entire affair. Much is being made about there being few complaints at the time the show aired, but thousands at the last count(28/Oct).  That is simply because as the story rolls on more people have heard therefor more people are offended and consequently more people complain.   Ten thousand and counting says it clear.  Yes it was offensive. Vulgarity offends people and not before time some are speaking out about it.

BREAKING NEWS: The BBC have suspended both presenters until further notice. Why did it take so long?

LATEST UFO SIGHTINGS FILES RELEASED IN U.K

The U.K. National Archives have released U.F.O files detailing sightings and other "encounters".   The fact that they even exist in the first place says a lot. It is what they contain and the Governments reaction to it all that is of huge interest.  I like to think that just as we are out there exploring the universe, it is not beyond possibility that  other beings may just be doing the exact same thing.  Do you think there is proof and Governments choose to hide it ?  Again,that would be of no surprise to many but would you want to know?

E.U. FUNDS SNOW FREE SKI SLOPE....TRUE!

E.U. funding of £79000 has gone to a Danish man to build a ski slope on the Island of Bornholm  where it rarely snows and there are no hills.  Is it not comforting to know that in these times of financial turmoil and economic uncertainty  the E.U. monetary committee are working hard to squeeze every ounce of value from funding projects like this.

It sure beats the golf course in the monastery project. (Also true).

LAGER LOUT TODDLERS BANNED FROM THE PUB.

FIRST IT WAS THE SMOKING BAN THAT WAS KEEPING FOLK AWAY FROM THEIR LOCAL. NOW  IT IS BADLY BEHAVED KIDS AND SCREAMING TODDLERS.

Record complaints have been received about noisy and unruly kids spoiling the lunch time pint for thousands of regulars.  Of course it's not the kids who should be targeted here, is it?  No you got it ...it's the parents.  Nearly every case you read about kids these days can be attributed back to poor parenting.

We seem to be afraid to address the truth and admit that a huge number of parents seem to do a pretty bad job. Protests will ensue I am sure but the evidence speaks for itself. Most small towns are no go areas after dark with kids wandering around drinking and being a nuisance.  Maybe it's because their parents didn't take them down the pub? 

Why are  children allowed into pubs anyway ? It has always puzzled me and why would you want to take your children to a pub?  Only reason I can think of is...it's because  you want to drink?

ANIMAL RIGHTS IGNORED BY THIS BARBARIC CRIMINAL BETTING RING

THIS IS SO BARBARIC I CANNOT BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHY ANYONE WOULD BE INVOLVED IN SUCH CRUELTY.  Thousands of horses are being maimed or worse in "HORSE FIGHTS" in the Philippines. Yes, you read it correctly: horse fighting is widespread  although banned by Government some ten years ago. 

The tournaments are organised by gangs and just like any other gambling event  huge sums of money are wagered on the outcome as horses fight  in a ring.  Crime syndicates rake in vast profits and the "season" lasts all year. The island of MINDANAO recently hosted a three day festival of horse fights. I am apalled by this and refuse to even link to the story as the detail and pictures are disturbing.

What disturbs me is that in a world where there is so much trouble and hunger and pain men dedicate their energy to things like this: poverty is cited as the motivator for this gambling business which benefits no one but the crime syndicates who have taken control.  Please tell every one you know about this.We must urge for an end to this practice and any "sport" which maims injures, or harms animals.

Other than the human ones who dream up schemes like these. 

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS GO UP IN COLEFORD

It is October. It is 21 deg  warm. It is way too early for Christmas decorations to be going up anywhere.  But they are going up anyway in Coleford as the volunteers need months to put them up.  How confused are the kids in this little town. How angry are the parents who face three months of pestering about Santa's  arrival. ITS JUST NOT RIGHT.

KATE MIDDLETON CAUGHT ON PHONE WHILE DRIVING

Well thats the squeaky clean image gone then. Turns out Kate is no better than all the other morons you see every day driving with a phone in their ear.  No doubt nothing will befall her as a result because every one else gets away with it.  She in particular should know better and  be more aware of the dangers.   NUFF SAID

BOY GEORGE POOR TICKET SALES FORCE CANCELLATION

Sad to see Boy George failing to sell tickets on his comeback tour. Less than 100 tickets were sold for his Portsmouth Gig forcing refunds for the 89 people who paid to see the Culture Club star.  Some artists become icons and could sell out anywhere.  Boy George however belonged to a short lived but intense "new romantic" phase of pop culture that was good while it lasted. The message for him now is move on because he will never recapture that moment again.  2200 seat gigs are for X-factor tours and panto's.   There are "no plans to reschedule the show"

KATIE PRICE JORDAN & PETER ANDRE IS IT THE END ?

Katie Price aka Jordan and Peter Andre aka Mr Jordan have again denied marriage troubles as just a spat. Now we heard the same old same old with McCartney/Mills, Madonna/Ritchie so we guess its just a matter of time.                                                                                                    Katie is off pursuing  her equestrian career,talk about reinventing yourself, its a long way from glamour model to Horse of the year show.

Pete meantime insists their move to L.A. is not a last ditch attempt to save the marriage. Ho Hum its a hard gig being a celebrity couple.  Hollywood's gain is our gain loss .......I think.
