Kate & Gerry McCann deserve our compassion

K_j In a two hour programme on the disappearance of their daughter Madeline the McCanns presented a truly in depth insight into their nightmare.

Here we saw two normal people who clearly realise they made a huge mistake the night their child was abducted but who deserve and need our understanding and compassion. In this frank and open documentary  Kate and Gerry were truly traumatised by the events which a year ago thrust them into a spotlight they neither sought or wished for.  M The fact they are still in the spotlight still fighting and campaigning is astonishing.  They will never forgive themselves for leaving their kids alone but at this point, a year on, it is hard not to be sympathetic towards them.
